A family getaway from Glasgow to Skye amidst Highlands, lochs and monsters of all kinds !

Welcome to Scotland, a rugged and untamed country that seems like the ends of the earth! We will set out to explore this amazing country with cheerful hearts and a compass in the mist. Our adventure will begin in the Highlands, a land of legends and clan history. Next, off to the Isle of Eigg and its highest peak to enjoy the 360° panorama. Then, we will cross volcanic rocks and lochs aboard a train that all children will surely recognize. After that, we will take the ferry to the mountainous island of Rum that we will discover by bike. Afterwards, we set course for the mythical Isle of Skye. There, sea and mountain become one. Upon return to the highlands, we'll try to solve the mysteries of Loch Ness.

Day 1 - Direction Scotland
Flight to Glasgow. Welcome by your guide and transfer to the Western Highlands. Itinerary through the famous Loch Lomond and the famous Glencoe Valley. Accommodation in a comfortable private house in the Mallaig area for the duration of your stay.

B&B – No hike

Day 2 - Beach and village of Peanmeanach
Today, we are going to explore one of the peninsulas of Arisaig Bay. Our hike will take us to an abandoned village and a beautiful beach at the end. We will be able to enjoy a superb view of the coast and the islands that we will explore throughout the week. We will also be able to swim for the first time of the stay.

5 hours hike – Easy – 500M of ascent

Day 3 - Isle of Eigg
We’ll take the ferry from Mallaig to explore this beautiful island where no motorized vehicles are allowed. Our destination on the island is “The Sgurr of Eigg” or the peak of Eigg. Small in elevation at only 394m but impressive in shape, Eigg’s highest peak offers a real mountain feeling. Last part on the ridge with the best view of the island to admire the 360° panorama.

4 hours hike – Easy – 300M of ascent

Day 4 - On the road to Harry Potter: Jacobite Steam train
Morning aboard the famous Jacobite Steam train that links Fort William and Mallaig. In particular, we will have the opportunity to pass over the famous Glannfinnan Viaduct, which has been made famous by the second Harry Potter movie, where we see the steam train that has been renamed Hogwarts Express crossing the famous viaduct. In the afternoon, swimming and rest with the discovery of the idyllic beaches between Mallaig and Arisaig.


4 hours hike – Easy – 340M of ascent

Day 5 - Isle of Rum by bike
We’ll take the ferry from Mallaig to explore this beautiful island by bike. There are so many beautiful things to see on Rum that there is not enough time to do it on foot. Cycling is an ideal way to discover the small hidden treasures of this island with its majestic landscapes. We will go to a viewpoint that allows us to appreciate not only the grandeur of the mountains of Rum but also that of the Isle of Skye and the west coast of Scotland.


4 hours hike – Easy – 650M of ascent

Day 6 - Skye - Point of Sleat
From Mallaig, we’ll take the ferry to the Isle of Skye, which has been ranked the fourth most beautiful island in the world by National Geographic magazine. Today, we will see the lighthouse on the southernmost tip of the island which is an ideal place to observe seals and dolphins and sometimes basking sharks. Viewpoint towards the Isle of Rum and Eigg. Stop on the way back at a beautiful hidden beach with the opportunity to swim.


5 hours hike – Easy – 700M of ascent

Day 7 - Glasgow
We’ll be on our way to Glasgow in the morning. Discovery of the city in the company of your guide. Dinner according to your own arrangements and an overnight stay in a hotel in Glasgow.


No hike

Day 8 - Bye Bye Scotland !
Breakfast at the hotel and last urban strolls according to flight schedules. Airport transfer and return flight.
